Dr. Plaud is an internationally recognized expert in forensic clinical psychology, specializing in criminal and civil risk assessments. His company, Applied Behavioral Consultants, LLC is a leader in providing clinical and consultative services in the United States in both state and federal courts. Dr. Plaud has lectured and published extensively in forensic clinical psychology. Outside of the courtroom, Dr. Plaud has been featured on multiple media outlets, including the Dr. Phil Show.

Dr. Plaud received his B.A. in psychology in 1987 from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude, with High Honors in Psychology. He enrolled as a graduate student at the University of Maine, in Orono, Maine, where he received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 1993, after completing his clinical internship at the University of Mississippi and Jackson Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in Jackson, Mississippi.
