Chicago, IL, November 30, 2017 –(PR.com)– Kim Olver, LCPC, NCC, BCC, bestselling award-winning author, has created a women’s retreat called, Choosing Me Now, to answer the challenges many women face – the challenge to take care of themselves in the midst of taking care of everyone else in their lives. Because women are known to be nurturers, they spend much of their time in service to others – their children, their significant others and often their own aging parents or the parents of their spouse. Add to that demands of employment and other responsibilities, women often find themselves running on fumes. Most efforts to address the need to take care of oneself come in the form of diet, exercise and an occasional trip to a spa but according to Olver, building a healthy, loving relationship with oneself involves so much more than simply attending to physical needs.

Olver is the director of The William Glasser Institute – US and William Glasser International. She is certified in Choice Theory/Reality Therapy. Choice Theory says that people have five basic needs and addressing each of those needs is critical in building a healthy relationship with others. Olver uses that schema to teach women how to create a healthy, meaningful, loving relationship with oneself. She says many people need to learn to write a new story about themselves. The retreat is based on her latest book, "Choosing Me Now: Letting Go of What Doesn’t Work to Make Room for What Does," available in January 2018.

Olver is holding her first Choosing Me Now Retreat in San Antonio, TX, Feb. 9-11, 2018 at the DoubleTree Inn, 502 W César E Chávez Blvd. She wants to keep the audience intimate, so there is limited space available. Topics on the agenda include how to know themselves better, learning their non-negotiables, aligning their actions with values, and learning how to listen to their inner voice to find their own true path.

Olver lives in Chicago and says she chose the location of the retreat because who wants to be in Chicago in February? She looked on a map and decided San Antonio was the perfect place to be. To learn more, go to www.choosingmenow.com.
